The first certified Eco-Guesthouse is located in the small Moravian village of Hostětín, famous for its ecological projects. You can visit Hostětín on you vacation, attend educational courses or enjoy an activities filled stay. The major Hostenin attraction are: the gray-water treatment using natural plants and irrigation filtration, organic apple cider production, historical fruit drying room, solar panels and a power plant, straw bails used for insulation, local heating system using biomass and the novelty in ecological construction - a passive house with the minimal heating energy. During your stay you can wonder in the White Carpathians picturesque countryside, or view the sculpture exhibition SCULTURES IN THE COUNTRY, visit museums in Bojkovice, Šanov, and Slavičín, visit the chateau Nový Světlov and castle ruins in Brumov-Bylnice, a forest park in Slavičín or the Luhačovice spa. You can relax of spend some quality time filled with activities in the Passive house of the Center Veronica Hostětín. They offer accommodation in 10 rooms with double occupancy to four per room, with own amenities, furnished with natural materials, with a view of the organic apple orchard, and free Internet access. The Center also offers a 50 seat conference room and a kitchen offering full day menu.
Feel free to take part in the educational and cultural programs organized by the Veronica Center, sample excellent local organic cuisine, and learn about local eco projects from a professional lecturer or rent sports equipment. The Celebration of Apples at the end of September is one of many other events. Our tip: Hike along the interpretive trail "Po zelené Hosteninem"where you will see information signs about this unique village. From Uhersky Brod via Bojkovice, Pitín to Hostětín, the educational Center Veronica Hostětín and apple cider buildings are on the village square opposite the municipal offices building.
By train: Hostětín is situated along the train route No. 341 Staré Město u Uherské Hradiště - Vlárský průsmyk (there are train connections to Slovakia), between the train stops Pitín and Slavičín. The Hostenin train stop is located in a field and you cannot see the village from there - be careful not to miss your stop. It is about a 10 minute walk from this train station to the village, a distance of about 0.5 km. printout
