In Cantabric coast (north Spain) near Villaviciosa estuary where you will find nature reserve, an area with a unique ecosystem where many aquatic birds spend the winter or rest during their migration.
This is a typical coastal farm, nestling among others in a rolling agrarian landscape. Just 4 km from beautiful beaches and friendly fishing villages, this is where Severino and Daniela have raised their children.

Several guest rooms share one common kitchen/sitting/dining area. Breakfast is served in this spacious room each morning. For more privacy, there is also an apartment with its own kitchen. A library on the premises offers a wealth of regional information, including local walking guides. The owners, artists by trade, teach guests to make pottery modelled on 17th and 18th century earthenware from the Villaviciosa region. They also actively breed two indigenous endangered animal species: Xalda sheep and Asturcón horses. The farm houses a museum about Asturcón ponies and other indigenous breeds, and several riding horses are available on the farm. Guests can learn to make jam and cider (the traditional local drink), or learn about sheep and horse breeding. Both cider and jam are made from fruit grown on the premises. There is a large garden and a swimming pool for children to play in. Eco-tours to working organic farms in the neighbourhood can be arranged. During the off season, people with an interest in ceramics or horses can work on the farm in return for room and board.

how to get there
San Sebastián-Santander-Villaviciosa towards Gijón (N632/E70). Continue N632 1 km past Villaviciosa, across Ría de Villaviciosa, right on AS256. After 7 km, turn right (between km markers 4 and 5) on VV4 to Argüero. At first fork (after 1 km), right and follow signs to Foncalada.
